One year old baby dies after mother left her to attend to alcohol drinking and miraa chewing expedition

A baby girl aged one year and seven months has been reported dead after being left in a room alone for three consecutive days.

The mother to the infant aged 30, was reported to have allegedly left her locked in a house at Kithimani in Yatta , Machakos County, to out for a drinking spree and miraa chewing party in a nearby village.

The baby’s body has since been taken to Yatta Funeral Home while the mother is being held at Yatta Police Station as more investigation into the matter resumes
