Maandamano Wednesday: Ministry of education closes public schools ahead of 3 days protests

Ministry of education has called all public schools in Nairobi and regions expected to have maandamano to remain closed for the safety of students, a report from the ministry compiled by ministry of interior security said that all public day schools will remain closed untill further notice about the safety of the maandamano

This comes after Azimio said the said maandamano will continue as scheduled

Karua said that despite the withdrawal of security for Azimio leaders, the maandamano planned for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week would go on as earlier announced. Karua revealed that the collection of signatures against President William Ruto had reached 6 million.

she also disclosed that the opposition plans to file a case against police officers over their conduct during the previous maandamano.
She asked Kenyans to share captured evidence of police brutality.

“We appeal to all well-intentioned Kenyans who wish to share with us photographs and videos of evidence of police brutality. We urge them to take advantage of state-provided citizen journalism and films, including police and politicians who are committing atrocities against people,” she said.
