Safaricom has announced a partnership with UBA, according to safaricom this is a groundbreaking initiative that will allow drivers across Kenya to pay for their trips with their M-PESA.
Safaricom, which announced the partnership, said it is building on its successful collaboration with UberEats to enable seamless M-PESA payments for deliveries and earnings, promising the new cooperation would revolutionize digital travel in the country.
The cooperation is aimed especially beneficial for unbanked drivers. According to Uber data, about 20% of drivers using the platform are unbanked, thus not making the most of their digital journey.
Safaricom has been strongly committed to working with partners to provide more value and opportunities to its users, in line with its goal of transforming life in Kenya.
