A man in his 40s was crushed to death when a tree he was trying to cut fell over in Bomet County.
The area manager Isaac Koech said the deceased was part of a group of four other men using a chainsaw to cut down a tall bluegum tree when strong winds knocked the tree down before them realising, leaving the deceased out of safety.

It is said that he was unable to escape because from the account leaving him crushed to death.
He added that the deceased, along with other men, cut down the tree, we’re taking precautions not to damage live power cables attached to nearby poles forgetting if their safety.
Attempts to rush him to a nearby medical facility, was unsuccessful due to the after he was pronounced dead later.
Police have transferred the body to the Longisa County General Hospital morgue as more prompt .
