In Nigeria, a university graduate attempted suicide out of frustration over his rejected grades.
Precious Ogbeide who graduated from Ambrose Ali University in 2018 has not received maximum marks for the units he studied.
A family member who witnessed the incident said he used a broken bottle to stab himself.
He said the university graduate almost committed suicide but was saved by friends and family who took him to the hospital. Several other alumni of the university also expressed concerns over the lack of marks, accusing the management of being lax in dealing with their problems.
“Some students who have not resolved grade issues with professors in their classes are the ones who face these challenges,” Aladenika said.
Aladenika added that students who have studied all required modules and completed all assessments will not face the problem of missing grades at university.
