On Saturday 12th by5:00am , Bukhungu Stadium was full to capacity as fans waited to cheer their best secondary schools in the on going Secondary Schools games. The uniqueness in it is that , all schools that qualified for finals are from former Western Province of Kenya.
The Shanderema Eagles’ flight was slowed down as the crowd favourites suffered a 1-0 loss in the hands of St. Anthony Boys in the semifinals marking their exit in the title contention campaign.

Butere Girls marched to the finals after beating Madira Girls 1-0 and will meet Trans Nzoia County’s Wiyeta Girls in the finals, tomorrow.
In rugby, It was an all Western region affair at the rugby finals, in this year’s Kenya Secondary Sports Association (KSSA) games, between Kakamega County champions Koyonzo Boys and Vihiga Boys High School from Vihiga County, as a last minute push from Jackson Siketa sealed the win for the “Stormers” for a 22-12 full time score at the well attended match played at the Western Bulls – “Bull Ring” – grounds.
The national finals were both from western region teams that ended in a 17-7 score in favour of Koyonzo at the same venue.
