Mwangaza while pleading his case ahead of the vote asked for forgiveness, pledging to work with ward representatives and other leaders to unite the people of Meru.

She blamed the misfortunes on external forces

Mwangaza, who faces a plenary Senate session, is one of seven female governors elected on August 9, 2022, polling 209,148 votes and defeated incumbent President Kiraitu Murungi.
